Whenever I invite friends for dinner for, say, the Academy Awards, the first thing I find out is if there’s anything they don’t eat.  Instead of seeing allergies or dietary preferences as an annoyance, I see them as a challenge.  My goal is that everyone shares the same dinner and they think it’s only a happy accident that everyone can eat everything on the menu.  My Decadent (Gluten-Free!) Chocolate Cake is perfect for someone who needs to avoid gluten, but no one else at the party will have a clue that it’s not made with regular flour.  My secret weapon is Thomas Keller’s “Cup 4 Cup” gluten-free flour.  I substitute it - literally cup for cup - for regular all-purpose flour and trust me, no one can ever tell the difference!  Now the only thing you need to worry about is who will win the Oscar for Best Picture!
