I love Thanksgiving!! But after cooking non-stop for the past two and a half years, I thought we could all use a break. When the New York Times asked me to make a delicious “store-bought” Thanksgiving dinner, I thought, “Who could do that??!” But the idea kept tugging at me and I decided to try.
I had two requirements for each dish. First, that a store-bought ingredient, like packaged stuffing mix or a can of whole-berry cranberry sauce, made the dish much easier to prepare; and second, that the final product totally tasted like it was made from scratch. No one will ever know that the store-bought ingredient is in there!
Whether you serve the classics from your childhood or start new traditions this year, I hope you have a very Happy Thanksgiving!
