Spring in the Garden

Thursday, June 8, 2017

Spring is really my favorite time of year in the garden.  After a long winter, it feels like the trees and flowers begin to bloom all at once and the garden is full of life before I know it. Right now, the willow trees have white and pink tipped leaves that look like flowers but they’re really the new leaf growth.  In front of them are lots of lettuces and chives in flower. Instead of cutting an entire head of lettuce and leaving a space, I take a few leaves from each head so I can have a delicious salad AND a gorgeous garden.  If only the rabbits did it that way, too!
